The street release date for the DVD release of Neon Genesis Evangelion volume 1 has been pegged at May 23, 2000. Monster Ranchers DVD volumes 1 and 2 are expected to be available on the same day.

Just received this note from the folks at Disney:
Because of the encouraging response to the video release of KIKI'S DELIVERY SERVICE, a limited theatrical release for CASTLE IN THE SKY is being considered before it is released on video.
Video release dates for other titles by Hayao Miyazaki have not been set by BVHE but will be announced in the future.
If you have any other questions concerning our videos and DVD's, or would like to be sent a list of available videos and DVD's, or would like to request that a particular film be released on video, please call 1-800-723-4763.

Our dabblings with CGI scripting is beginning to pay off... We now have a rudimentary search capability for the encyclopaedia. Some of the search results won't make a lot of sense until we finish with the clean-up of the encyclopædia entries. We're looking at expanding the search capability for the entire site, but we need to find a CGI script that's a bit quicker. Does anyone out there have any suggestions?

Carlos Ross of T.H.E.M. Anime Reviews reports that the problems with FTP'ing their site has been resolved, and updates will resume Monday, March 6th. Welcome back, folks!
Lots of updating happening to the encyclopædia, as we continue to clean up the mess left behind from changes to some graphics on the site.
We have a new winner in last month's Anime Giveaway draw. Our congratulations to Dutin Armentrout of Rockford, IL. Dustin wins a model kit of a Veritech VF-1A.
There are also a couple of updates to A Parent's Guide to Anime. Contributors please note -- you have a much higher probability of getting your reviews posted if you don't make the poor editor work overtime. He likes to cut-and-paste, and if you make him edit every second word, your review is not going to get published on this website!

We start the month off with a new editorial feature -- the Café had the honour of interviewing Jonathan Klein of New Generation Pictures. Those of you who are considering trying voice acting -- there's some good info here!
We also have a new contest up and running... we're going to try an opinion poll again, and this time, we'll try not to lose the database!
