[ plot summary ]

Kenshin TV LD 2 jacket

A killer is on the loose killing important people who were part of the Ishinshishi during the Bakumatsu period. Strangely, when the police try to protect the to-be victim, all the guards are killed without having drawn their sword! How is it that with so many guards, this killer can kill his victim?

Kenshin figures that the killer is probably like him: a hitokiri from the Bakumatsu period. Will Kenshin be able to protect the next victim, and will he be able to defeat this killer who seems to enjoy killing so much? Then again, will Sano be able to help out in this fight?

Kaoru, unable to sleep the night Kenshin is off defending the next victim, worries about Kenshin; whe has a vauge feeling that something very bad is about to happen. Is Kaoru's feeling right? And if so, what can she do to help Kenshin?

[Udo Jine, another person from another era...]

[Just how bad can Kaoru's cooking be?]

[Kenshin receives an unexpected momento from Kaoru.]

[Has Hitokiri Battousai returned after all these years?]

For the first time in this series, we get a very clear idea on just how bad Kaoru's cooking really is. Despite the major story being about Udoo Jine and his upcoming battle with Kenshin, we get some interesting character development between Kaoru and Kenshin which really makes for maintaining people's interest in this series. The idea of Kenshin becoming Battousai again after 10 years to defeat Jine makes you wonder just what Kenshin's character is really like.

Seeing Kaoru go off hunting for Kenshin when she thinks that he won't return really gets you thinking about the relationship between the two. The idea of Jine kidnapping Kaoru to help Kenshin revert to Battousai is fairly predictable enough, but at the same time really makes you wonder how close to being a killer Kenshin really is. Really though, it's Kenshin's history and the development that happens between Kenshin and Kaoru that drives this story as we wait to see how things develop between the two.
