Marmalade Boy

A Parent's Guide to Anime
Rated: PG

Parental Guidance Advised

Reviewed by Tori Reed:

Marmalade Boy is a shoujo drama. It's the story of Miki, a girl with a strange life. One day, her parents come home from their trip to Hawaii, and things seem normal. Then her parents tell her they are divorcing, and trading partners with a couple they met in Hawaii. Miki is the only one who seems to have a problem with this. Yuu, the other couple's son, doesn't seem to mind. Miki, who has a terrible crush on Yuu, thinks they're all insane. Marmalade Boy ran more than 70 episodes, and there was a movie. All have been fansubbed.

Parent's Guide Rating:

yellow (parental guidance advised)

Yes, there is casual swearing, nudity, and sexual themes thrown in every once and a while. It's not really too bad. But Marmalade Boy will probably bore younger kids to death. It's know as a Soap Opera of anime, although it does have it's share of comedy.
