Nightmare Campus

A Parent's Guide to Anime
Rated: X

For Adult Audiences Only

Review by Lori Ann Chauvette:

(This is a review of the movie made from the series, which is now coming out on DVD)

Prep school student Matsuo was lost in the Himilayas, but mysteriously finds himself back on his school's campus soon after his disappearance. Since his return, he has changed in ways no one would think of -- mostly due to the demon that is now inhabiting his body. But not just any demon -- this one is the all powerful Esstess. He soon discovers a group of other students who are also inhabited by demons and using the power to fight the Gods.

I wasn't sure what to expect of this title when I rented it. I saw the warnings on the box -- "Adults only! Not for kids!" -- but I was still shocked by the amount of graphic sex there was in the film. I was expecting maybe one or two scenes, and even then not showing much. This definitely would be classified as "hentai".

Honestly, I think that if they had found another way to awaken the demons inside the characters (having sex/orgies seemed to be the main method in the film) I probably would have thought it was a decent story otherwise.

Warning:
Sex. Lots and lots of graphic sex, and a lot of it physically impossible even if it were a demon doing it. The violence in the film is also very graphic -- people's heads getting sliced in half or removed, lots of blood, etc.
