Detective Azusa-chan

Café Trivia

Hikaru no Go

question:

In episode 5, there's something unusual about the names of all the junior high schools in the i-Go competition. What is it?

answer:

Phonetically (and not by the kanji), the schools' names are all names of fish except for Kaioh which translates as "king of the sea". Hence:

  • Ayu - ayu; sweetfish
  • Hamachi - yellowtail
  • Haze - goby
  • Iwana - char
  • Kawahagi - filefish
  • Sawara - Spanish mackerel
  • Tai - sea bream
