Detective Azusa-chan

Café Trivia

Maison Ikkoku

question:

What is the significance of the names of the inhabitants of Ikkoku-kan?

answer:

Ichinose (Hanae and Kentaro) Rm 1 ichi = 1
Nikaido Rm 2 ni = 2
Mitaka Shun Rm 3 Mi = 3 (though he doesn't live there)
Yotsuya Rm 4 yotsu = 4 (eg. 4 items, it's a count definition)
Godai (Yusaku) Rm 5 go = 5
Roppongi (Akemi) Rm 6 roku = 6
Roppongi is also a bar district in Tokyo -- used to be very popular, though I understand that these days, it's on the down slide... much like the character.
Kujo Asuna ku = 9

Otonashi (Kyoko)- well behaved; is a reflection on her personality. Also could be looked at as oto (man) and nashi (not likely), as a reflection of her marital status. Great pun no matter how you look at it.

There are a lot more names that pop up during the series; watch for more trivia questions!
