Strangely, when the police try to protect the to-be victim, all the guards are killed without having drawn their sword! How is it that with so many guards, this killer can kill his victim? Kenshin figures that the killer is probably like him: a hitokiri from the Bakumatsu period. Will Kenshin be able to protect the next victim, and will he be able to defeat this killer who seems to enjoy killing so much? Then again, will Sano be able to help out in this fight? Kaoru, unable to sleep the night Kenshin is off defending the next victim, worries about Kenshin; whe has a vauge feeling that something very bad is about to happen. Is Kaoru's feeling right? And if so, what can she do to help Kenshin?
