Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure

A Parent's Guide to Anime
Rated: M

Recommended for Mature Audiences

Reviewed by Bobby Stringini:

This show is very dark, and pretty creepy. The characters look great, and the story is pretty cool, but very strange. I bought this tape thinking that it was going to be a goofy show with quirky characters. Boy was I wrong. This show is very seriouse, and all the characters seem to be very angry! The main story is about a man (Jo Jo) who has just found out about a strange being that lives in him. Then the story gets really weird.

This show is NOT for kids. A young woman is attacked, and then killed. Then you see several semi bloody naked women lying on the ground. I would say anyone who enjoyed the manga or video game may want to see this, but watch this with caution.

Parent's Guide Rating:

red (recommended for mature audiences)

Violence: There is a very bizarre shot of a severed head sprouting tentacles and then ripping into a man's neck. There are some fight scenes, but there is very little blood there. And as mentioned before a young woman is killed, and later you see several naked bodies of dead women. The death of the woman is actually pretty gruesome.

Sex/Nudity: The one scene with the dead naked women. You can see one of the woman's breasts. The rest of the show is pretty devoid of sexual content.

Language: The language is very raw. There is one f-word and several other colorful phrases.
