What's New at the Café

Do you know of a site that's about to go down? Does it have information that should be preserved on the web? Let us know, and we'll save what we can!

You can also help us out by keeping your eyes open for any anime-related events or articles. Clubs and convention-goers -- don't forget our events calendar page! If your organisation has something up and coming, let us know!

  • April 2

Two new reviews are now up for Jubei-chan: Secret of the Lovely Eyepatch as well as associated trivia questions. Also up are reviews for Dagger of Kamui, Dog of Flanders, Dragonball Z, Iria: Zeiram the Animation, Kite, Maison Ikkoku, Photon, Romeo's Blue Skies, Shamanic Princess, and Silent Service on the Parent's Guide to Anime section so take a look!

Otherwise, several reviews are still pending for the Parent's Guide so stay tuned and please be patient for those who have submitted!

  • March 29

Two new reviews are now up for Sol Bianca 1999 OAVs. Special thanks go to Ken Moore for his first reviews on the Anime Cafe site!

  • March 26

Reviews are now up on the Cafe site for the first four episodes of Generator Gawl. For those people interested in science fiction and mecha anime, this could be for you! Special thanks go to Jonathan Wu for his continued contributions to the Anime Cafe!

The Release Calendars have also been updated for upcoming manga and anime both. (What do you mean they're starting to list May releases?! I can't even order my April books yet!) Otherwise, I'm falling very behind with the Parent's Guide so please be patient there. (Will I ever get caught up with those?!)

  • March 17

Reviews are now up for the first four episodes of Virtua Fighter. Special thanks go to JayDee Archer of Anime Ai for writing the reviews, and a heartfelt thanks goes to the folks at Media-Blasters for sending us the screener tape. It was very much appreciated!

Otherwise, reviews are now up for Love Hina and Don't Leave Me Alone Daisy in the Parent's Guide to Anime.

  • March 15

Pictures are now up for Card Captor Sakura Movie 2 as well as DVD/VHS cover scans for: Ayashi no Ceres, Card Captor Sakura Movie 2, Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo Story 1, (Denshin) Mamotte Shugogetten, and Lost Universe so take a look!

On the Japanese release front, Inu Yasha will start being released May 30 and the Aa! Megamisama! Movie will be out as of June 20.

  • March 13

Three new reviews have now been posted for Ayashi no Ceres episode 1, Lost Universe episode 1, as well as for Card Captor Sakura Movie 2 Fuuin Sareta Card. Some more terms have also been added to the encyclopaedia. Otherwise, hope everyone has a nice White Day tomorrow!

  • March 2

A new review has now been posted for Denshin Mamotte Shugogetten OAV 1. Also, Parent's Guide reviews have been added for Irresponsible Captain Tylor, Kimera, Slayers Motion Picture, Yu Yu Hakusho TV series and Movie 1. Several new terms have been added to the encylopaedia primarily dealing with manga.

In this month's editorial we take a brief look at anime and its usefulness in learning Japanese. Also up in the Cafe Espresso section is a brief look at manga.

  • February 8

Surpise surprise! The Cafe turned 4 years old on the 6th! Happy birthday to us! ^_^ In any case, we've finally gotten started on our Christmas presents for reviews. First up is the very first 3 episode murder mystery in the Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo series. Amazing what you'll find available if you start shopping at a number of source shops rather than relying on import shops or just one major shop. As a result, we have a minor commentary on on-line shopping in this month's editorial. Also, the Calendar of Events has been updated for Conventions happening in 2001 and the Upcoming Releases Calendar has also been updated so take a look!
